You can call the creditors and inform them of your situation. Ask if they have an interest only payment option until you and your wife are able to get back on your feet. You can also call a debt relief/settlement company and inquire about their options.

Another option you may want to consider is filing for bankruptcy. The reason why is the freeze on your account won' be lifted until the debt is satisfied. Although you can negotiate with the receiver, if not a bankruptcy will release and unfreeze the accout and depending on your financial situation, can get the funds taken, given back to you.
