There really isn't a time frame for that circumstance. You need to address this with the lender to make sure that the lender unwinds the deal as there are often issues where dealer does not have ability to cancel the sale after the lender funds it. There is no real remeby 14 months later. When you buy a used car. presumably "as-is" the cheap price you pay compared to a new car is the offset for the repairs and depreciation. Your remedy here is to treade the car in on another car if you can afford to do so, or spend the money to get the necessary repairs to ake the car safe, or junk the car and use Uber or public transportation.... Absent a warranty, if the vehicle was As-Is - the seller has no obligation to fix anything. If there is a warranty, you need to follow the warranty standards for repairs which may require an approved dealer.
