Whether you have insurance or not, any damage to the property can be recovered from the driver's insurance policy or from the driver personally. In terms of the repairs to the property, your landlord may have insurance from this but they also have a claim against the driver. However, since you did not have renter's insurance, your landlord can look to you for damages on this incident. By not having insurance, you technically breached the lease. Depending on how much damage there is and the insurance of the car involved, you would be wise to find a lawyer to represent you on this. This is not a simple matter. You would be wise to get estimates on the repairs and you need to notify the landlord and the insurance company for the driver of any claim you have. The sooner the better. Good luck.... Read Answer
