Maybe. There are appeal rights for any determination.  There are also payment plans that can be set up. It is critical that one pay attention to any "overpayment notice" from the Social Security Administration (SSA).  There are deadlines to appeal the decision in that notice and if not exercised, you may lose them.   Your benefits may stop completely until the overpayment is repaid so stay on top of this issue.... The time limits are usually very short, so it is important to seek help immediately. Consult with a local attorney about this issue. LTD cases are based upon a contract.
