You should contact an experienced criiminal and DUI attorney. It sounds like your were arrested for either DUI, possession, or reckless driving or all 3. You should not try to do this alone. It sounds like you have been arrested for two misdemeanor offenses. While I don't believe there is any mandatory jail sentence required for these offenses, you should really speak to an experienced criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. Some counties may want jail time due to the hit and run. If you did not complete your DUI class or pay your court fees, you may have a warrant for your arrest or a suspension on your license. If you commit a crime then you have to obey the order of the court or you will go to jail. The judge does not care if it is expensive or inconvenient, you either comply with the terms or you get a year in jail. You do not seem to realize the consequences of violating the judges order.

That can happen. Typically on a DUI plea or conviction the Court orders that the car the defendant was driving be impounded for ten days as that is required under the law. Most judges will either waive that requirement or allow another car to be impounded. Impounded means not used for ten days. The impoundment of the car can be a company comes out and puts a lock on the car. If the car was impounded (literally) during the arrest then there could be other issues such as drugs found in the car or some other reason the car was impounded.... Read More
