You need to make an abuse-free environment, not money, your priority. You can't sue as a minor except through a guardian ad litem. You mother may not be financially responsible to pay you damages. Worry about that after you are safe.

You have a claim for recovery of what you spent and possibly for fraud. On the other hand, it seems that the seller conveyed title to you losing it to the other purchaser; it seems that either your purchase cuts off the other purchaser's interest or the seller's mistake cancels your contract and I'm not sure on how that plays out.... Did he marry you because of the lie? If so he may be able to get annulment. On the other hand if he didn't marry you, what damages would he have? How much damage has he really suffered? Without damages I don't see how any plaintiff atty would take such a case.

I agree. Send the bill back with a check for the uncontested tests, and an explanatory letter (keep a copy) telling why you will not pay for the other tests. If there is a lawsuit, present the letter as evidence of your conversation with the doctor. Since he did not respond to it, you can argue that he acquiesced to your letter.... Read More

It appears to me that you are responsible for the tab for having hired the contractor to do work during which work the break occurred. But, your utility provider may support you in an informal claim or Small Claims Court against your contractor who seemingly was negligent.

There is a body of law to the effect that one cannot contract away one's liability for negligence. The answer will also depend on whether or not you actually read that clause before signing the contract. Because of the amount you should consider suing in Small Claims Court.

This is definitely not a personal injury question. I'd view your question as one of Family Law from the standpoint of parents and Contract Law from the standpoint of the "technology companies" (as Uber deviously labels itself). Parents must act responsibly and the carriers had better work with parental consent and safeguard the safety of their minor passengers. I don't believe that there is any statutory preclusion.... Sounds like a nightmare scenario. Did you have any sort of written agreement with the IT Tech? Certainly sounds like an unbelievably exorbinant amount of money to charge what I assume is a small business. You may potentially have a number of claims against the IT Tech, but it is impossible to give you any real guidance without knowing more about the situation.
Feel free to send me an email with more info or give me a call if you would like to dig a bit deeper.
Thanks,
Jon... Read More
