How to get a lawyer

Answered 2 years and 6 months ago by attorney Robert John Wagner, Esq.   |   1 Answer
If your ex-son-inlaw is suing you, some additional information would help in trying to respond to your question.  If you have insurance, it may provide for hiring a lawyer to represent you.  Call an attorney to schedule an itial consultation. Some of the law schools also have legal clinics, if you live near OU in Norman, or University of Tulsa in Tulsa, that could be a good place to start.  If you are being sued, giving people you are talking to a copy of the Petition would significantly improve y our chance of getting helpful answers.... WWC case: Attorney withdrew and filed a lien.

Answered 10 years and 11 months ago by attorney Brian Russell Huddleston   |   1 Answer
Your new attorneys can send the old attorney a check for the lien in exchange for her endorsement on the settlement checks. If the attorney does not respond to this, a bar complaint can be filed for her failure to respond and delay of your case. Your current attorneys may have other ideas. Thanks, Brian... Read More

What can I do about the principle searching my daughter at school?

Answered 11 years and 4 months ago by Gisele Kathleen Perryman (Unclaimed Profile)   |   2 Answers
Probably not much. While a child is at school, the school is in the position called "in loco parentis" which means they are acting in the place of the parent. It would have to be a very wrongful act on their part for you to really have some sort of lawsuit, with the scenario you stated. If you believe there is something more to the incident, you should speak with an attorney in your area with more specific information (with more than what should be publically disclosed in a forum such as this).... If by IDL you mean international drivers license/permit, then you must look to the endorsements (usually a letter designation for type of vehicle one is permitted to drive). Otherwise, please define what you mean by IDL.

Can I sue the restaurant for rude customer service?

Answered 12 years and 11 months ago by John J. Carney (Unclaimed Profile)   |   2 Answers
You can sue anyone for almost anything but that does not mean you will win the lawsuit or have a case. You have absolutely no case here. You should not have ripped up the bill and he should not have been rude to you but neither ids a crime or a civil tort. If he threatened you that is harassment. If he told you to leave and you did not that is trespass on your part. If he asks you not to come back and you do that is also trespass. The owner is not going to care and he will probably side with the manager. All you can do is not go there anymore and be more patient and kind to people in the future and hope they are patient and kind to you. The minute you get in someone's face they are going to ber ude and insulting and shout at you as that is the way most people are today. They will not tolerate abusive people in their businesses and they will have you arrested or throw you out. I was not there to see who was rude forts or who asid what but I would advise you that if you are someone's place of business and make a scene they are going to call the police and it is likely to be you that gets arrested for Disorderly Conduct, Trespass, and maybe Resisting Arrest or Obstruction.... Can I file a lawsuit because a sheriff pulled me over saying I did not yield from an emergency vehicle?

Answered 13 years ago by Stephen Lewis Freeborn (Unclaimed Profile)   |   7 Answers
Your wasting your time. You were in the wrong. It does not matter whether or not any one else was in the road or in the other lane of travel, or whether you were driving the speed limit. The law obligates you to pull over to make room for an emergency vehicle. The officer could very easily have charged you. Consider yourself lucky.... Read More
