What you should do depends on what you can accomplish.  Bankruptcy will buy you delay, but to keep this property you are going to have to get money to pay these people, even if it is over time.  The tax arrears require a foreclosure too.

It depends where you are in the process, and what the acquisition documents state.  These deals are not usually done deals until closing.

Have your attorney move to make the deposition by video from CA.  Or get an order that costs be borne by Plaintiff.  I am not sure how jurisdiction was even obtained over you.  Sounds like the case might not have been handled the best.
