Failure to pay wages owed is a violation of the wage and hour act.  Your employer is not allowed to settle for a lesser amount - if he owes the wages, he owes them.  You could bring a claim for double damages and attorneys' fees if he continues to refuse to pay the full amount owed.... Read Answer

I'm not sure why your proceeds are set up in a trust, particularly if you were the party who was injured in the car accident.  As long as you are competent and able to manage your own affairs, I don't see why your mother would be in control of your funds.  Perhaps more information is needed to fully understand your issue.  Either way, good luck going forward.  -Jay Mills... Much of that would depend on whether the child suffered any actual physical injuries, and if so, the extent of those injuries.  If the child was required to seek medical attention, for instance, you may want to talk with an experienced personal injury attorney in your area.  On the other hand, if the child was not injured and is no longer in contact with the substitute teacher, you are probably best moving on and doing what you can to make sure it doesn't happen again.  Good luck.... Litigation is inherently unpredictable.  It is always possible that he could win.  However, it should come down to what you knew about the defects, what representations you made, and whether he can prove that the bike was defective when he purchased it. It may be considered negligent by the teacher to have done this, but the real issue is whether the child suffered any injuries as a result.  If not, you probably don't want to pursue a legal case or claim for damages.  That being said, you may want to talk with the school administrators to discuss the situation in hopes of preventing it from happening again....
