There is some possible liability under the same theory that a bar is liable for a dirty drunkie killing someone when the bar knows he's too drunk to drive yet keeps serving him and lets him drive - that should just be common sense. But hey, let's have some fun and check it out by, you guessed it - thinking it through! I know X is a sex offender. I'm going to allow him 24/7 free access to our club where children may be. Gee, I hope nothing bad happens. But hey, as long as our club's not liable - it's all good - right? I mean, kid was probably asking for it anyway. Yep, I was right - pretty much common sense!... It is not illegal to film police. they often resent it.it is not wise to fight a police officer. If you think he has misbehaved then the chief should hear from you or your lawyer later/ if there is an internal affairs dept in the police dept then talk to internal affairs.

Can I ask to get my money back and what is my right?

Answered 13 years ago by Christian Joseph Menard (Unclaimed Profile)   |   7 Answers
The truck was obviously sold to you based on the mechanic's misrepresentation and deceit. He also promised you the truck was in good working condition and it was not. Demand your money back and leave the truck with him. If he refuses to give you your money, then sue him in small claims court if the amount is $10,000 or less.... Read More

How do I know if I am gay?

Answered 13 years ago by John J. Carney (Unclaimed Profile)   |   6 Answers
If you are sexually attracted to men and you are a man then you are gay. If you are not sexually attracted to women and you are a man then you are probably gay. If you like show tunes, soap operas, and like to wear make up or women's clothes you are definitely gay. There is nothing to be ashamed of, it is the way you were born and the natural way for you to be. Do not let others tell you what to do or how to feel, do what makes you happy.... Read More

Don't think there is a specialist who limits practice to libel. Any good litigator would take your case if you have a good case and if you have good damages. No one will take a case because your feelings are hurt and you are angry with someone. The offense must be untrue and not a matter of opinion and there must be real dollar damages suffered( you lose a job, you go to hospital etc something real and provable)it will take a good lawyer many thousands of dollars worth of time to prosecute such a case so he wont take it on contingency unless it is good in all respects. I suppose litigator would take your case on an hourly basis even if it were weak but it would not make senses for you and he might not want to take your money. I would not let you pay me by the hour to handle a case for you that was poor in terms of liability or damages.... Read More

I have an educational right to be informed of any school changes in relevance of me. What do I do if it was violated?

Answered 13 years and 6 months ago by Ronald A. Steinberg (Unclaimed Profile)   |   17 Answers
You can complain. However, unless you can show a real "damage," there is no common-sense basis for a law suit.

Your question is too vague to be answered. I need to know what the change was, why it was made, etc. I disagree that you have an educational right to advance warning of any school changes that affect you. I guess the only advice I can give is to consult an attorney regarding whether your rights were violated and what, if any, recourse you have.... Read More

Seeking advice on what type of Attorney I need to contact regarding a lawsuit. details are below.

I am sorry to hear about these problems you have experienced.  You are likely going to need a civil attorney in the state of Florida (or wherever the charges were initially brought) who handles defamation cases.  The best option is probably just to start calling attorneys around in the Florida area and seeing if you can get any information or referrals.  Check online via internet searches too.  I hope this information helps. Best of luck. NOTE:  This response is general in nature and should not be considered legal advice.  No attorney-client relationship exists or is formed by this information.  ... Read More
