There are strict income levels with SSI.  If your daughter earns too much money - it will affect her benefits, and you need to monitor what she is receiving.  If it exceeds the amount, the income can be placed into a trust.

I don't know how your mother's granddaughter would be entitled to Social Security benefits.  Even if your mother was her guardian, the child's mother is still alive, and the child would not be entitled to benefits from her grandmother.  If she were entitled, then there would not be any way to stop that benefit, but without more information, it is hard to tell why she would be entitled to her benefits. ... I get social security. less amount.

Answered 9 years and 9 months ago by attorney Diana L. Anderson   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Social Security
There is not enough information to answer the question.  I'm not sure why your social security would be diminished because of the pension.

You need to file the appeal yourself.  Look on the paperwork you received from the overpayment and there will be directions on how to file an appeal or request a waiver.  You have to do that within a specific time frame so make sure that you aren't too late.  Indicate that it would be a hardship for you to pay and that your work was temporary (if is was) and that you won't be paid again.  ... Social security is a retirement benefit you earned while working.  It does not depend on your current income or assets.  If you are also receiving supplemental security income (SSI) then that income may stop because it is needs based.

Answered 11 years and 7 months ago by attorney Diana L. Anderson   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Social Security
This isn't really something a lawyer can help you with.  I think you would be better off trying some different things, if you haven't already.  There are some really good websites listing the things that you should do if you are the victim of identity theft.  there are also companies that will help you secure your identity, for a fee.  That would be a better use of your money then hiring an attorney, unless you know the person that stole your identity. ... social security disability

Answered 12 years and 7 months ago by attorney Diana L. Anderson   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Social Security
I think you are talking about Social Security Disability, not Social Security.  If you are found to be disabled and eligible to receive SSD, that has nothing to do with a CDL which is issued by the state in which you live.

Answered 12 years and 8 months ago by attorney Diana L. Anderson   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Social Security
Whether or not you are under age 18 is irrelevant.  If you did something illegal in accessing their site, they could potentially charge you as a violation of a federal statute.  If you are in New Jersey and the company is in New York, it becomes a federal crime as opposed to a state crime because the parties are in different states. there is a specific division within the FBI that was created to address this type of crime, and unauthorized access to a protected site is a crime.  The potential claim against you is going to depend on what type of site you hacked. ...
