To the best of my knowledge, tenants are only entitled to return of deposits when their tenancy is terminated (usually when they move out).  Nothing changes just because a landlord files for bankruptcy.  The owner may change, but that doesn't alter the tenant's obligations or the rights under the contract. In nh if i have a deed do i have to record it if there is no lein

Answered 12 years and 10 months ago by Lisa M. Hughes (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Real Estate
It depends on the jurisdiction in which the land is located.  Some jurisdictions transfer title based upon date of "delivery" of the deed to the new owner and some juridictions tranfer title based upon a "race to the court house" model (meaning whoever records first is the owner).  The safest bet is to record the deed.... my mother has been diagnosed with kidney cancer after being told its probably been there 5 years

Answered 13 years ago by John Joseph Ratkowitz, Esq. (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Medical Malpractice
For an attorney to know whether you have a viable malpractice case he really has to review all of the pertinent medical records to determine if there was something in a diagnostic test results or a blood test that should have resulted in a workup for possible cancer.  Kidney cancer is usually symptom-free until the late stages of the disease.  Then, people may start experiencing blood tinged urine, back pain below the ribs that persists, weight loss, fatigue and intermittent fever.  If you do want to investigate pursuing the case, you should contact a local medical malpractice attorney (one in your state).  They take these cases on a contingency basis which means you only have to pay if you succeed.  Additionally, initial consultations are usually free. You can use the "Find a Lawyer" service through this website to research medical malpractice attorneys.  Then, visit each attorney's website and look for a firm that has a record of successful verdicts.  If you are unable to find a lawyer who meets these qualifications within your state, sometimes you may contact an out of state lawyer who can refer you to a qualified attorney in your state while providing support related to the issues of medicine. Below are some articles you may find helpful.  They are written for a New Jersey audience (where I practice) but the ideas discussed in these articles usually apply in most other jurisdictions as well. Click here for an article that discusses the three main questions I ask when deciding whether to investigate a potential medical malpractice case. This discusses the issue of financial viability. When are the police supposed to read me my Miranda rights?

Answered 13 years ago by attorney Vincent C. Machroli   |   5 Answers   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Law
There is not a simple answer to your question, it's a complicated issue. A skilled criminal defense attorney would need to discuss this matter with you in greater detail, & ask you many questions, before he/she could give you the proper legal advice (& a quote) you are seeking. Schedule a consultation ASAP. Once the case is resolved to your satisfaction, you'll be glad you paid the money to hire her/him & properly protect your legal rights.... Read More

How do I find out the mineral rights status of property?

Answered 13 years and 2 months ago by Mr. Richard Alan Alsobrook (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Real Estate
You need to have a title search done.  You may also want to have the title search specifically focus on the grant of mineral rights.  You may want to contact a local real estate attorney to determine what the laws in your state are with regards to the severing of mineral estates from the real property as each state has unique laws regarding real property. This is not intended to be legal advice, and is general in its nature. No attorney-client relationship exists or is formed by this information. Furthermore, this does not represent the views or opinions of LexisNexis or its affiliated companies.... Read More

Yes it can be protected by copyright, but you should realize that copyright only protects copying and not use of the subject matter described in the work.  If the subject matter is sufficiently new, it may be patentable. It depends on the terms of the cardholder agreement. In general, if you use the credit card and sign, you are personally liable.

The answer depends on the terms of the loans themselves. Loan agreements frequently contain so-called "cross-default" clauses. Read your loan agreements.
