The question is governed by the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Unless you have a contract (which you probably do not), the employer is free to change your wages as long as he has paid you at least the minimum wage ($7.25/hour) for every hour you work up to 40 hours and 10.88 per hour for every hour you work over 40 hours. If you have a contract with a set rate of pay, then the employer would be violating it unless some clause in the contract allows him to deduct for losses.

You could go to the police or prosecutor and try to get him for embezzlement, but since he is an owner that may be difficult. Do you have an operating agreement or a partnership agreement? What does it say? Ultimately, you don't want to be in business with this man - he is a thief. So your best bet is to get him out of the business. yes, completely legal in GA. Your remedy is to not accept the job or quit if you are not willing to accept the terms. Employers may change as often as they wish, so long as you are paid minimum wage or more for each hour worked. it is not fair, but it is legal.
