Sure they can. They sue you down there, get a judgment and then take the judgment to your home state and get a judgment on that judgment. Your best bet is to work out a settlement that they will accept.

Why do we say that British constitution is unwritten, although we read it in books?

Answered 12 years and a month ago by Christopher Kirk Steuart (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
The expression describing the Constitution of the United Kingdom as "unwritten" is based on the concept that the set of laws and principles under which the United Kingdom is governed is the Constitution. Unlike many other nations, the UK does not have a single constitutional document. This is sometimes expressed by describing it as uncodified or "unwritten" constitution, although much of the Constitution is embodied in written documents, statutes, court judgments and treaties. The Constitution has other sources, including parliamentary constitutional conventions, royal prerogatives and historical tradition.... Read More

You cannot sue because you have not lost any money and have no money damages. Not everything that happens in life that you do not like becomes a civil lawsuit. You need to have sustained a loss of money from their false accusations.

Would it be bad for my son's case if I tried to keep in touch with my grandson?

Answered 12 years and 2 months ago by Kristin Miriam Hanna (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
The no contact order you mentioned probably has language saying that your son can't have contact with your grandson's mom directly or indirectly (through a 3rd party or online, phone, mail, etc.) So, if you contacted her on your son's behalf, then that's not so good. If you contacted her on your own, and your son did not ask you to do so, and you contacted her merely for the address and to set up communication between you and your grandson, that's okay. The key is that you cannot contact her for your son especially if he asks you to, or even if he knows you're going to make contact for him and he knowingly allows it. His lawyer can only do the contacting. So long as your son didn't have anything to do with it, and didn't put you up to it, it should be okay.... Read More

What are my options if I fall and got injured on my work premises?

Answered 12 years and 2 months ago by Andrew Tyler Velonis (Unclaimed Profile)   |   12 Answers
Yes, you are entitled to worker's compensation, no you cannot sue your employer. Does your employer actually own the lot? Who does the plowing, other employees of the company you work for, or do they hire a snowplow? It may be possible that you can collect worker's compensation and also pursue some other party, if it can be proved they are legally liable. Contact a personal injury lawyer in your area....
