Police brutality

Answered 2 years and 2 months ago by Mr. John Michael Frick (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
Police brutality is not covered by the area of practice "legal ethics and professional responsibility."  It more commonly falls within the area of pratice of "civil rights."Attorneys who practice in the area of civil rights (and I am not one) commonly practice on a statewide basis.  Dallas civil rights attorney, and former attorney general candidate, Lee Merritt practices on a statewide, and even nationwide, basis as most civil rights cases end up in federal court.  He is not only an experienced attorney who devotes a substantial part of his practice to this area of law, he is also a staunch advocate and "true believer."  Though there are others as well.I strongly recommend you contact his office to discuss your situation.  If you have a valid claim that potentially could result in a recovery of substantial damages, he will tell you that.  If he does not think you have a valid claim that is worth pursuing, then you probably don't.... With Gomez v. Braid pending, you are going to have a very difficult time finding an attorney willing to accept such a case.  If the statute of limitations has not expired, I suggest you wait until the opinion of the court of appeals issues. While you have a better shot at establishing standing than the plaintiff did in that case, I strongly suggest you find a pro-life organization well-versed in litigation in the area of abortion rights to pitch your case to.  The standing issue alone is very complicated.  Of course, if you have the financial resources to fund litigation of this nature (which has the real potential to reach the US Supreme Court), you should line up all your trial and appellate lawyers now to insure that the very best arguments in your favor are preserved in the trial court for appellate review. You also have a secondary criminal issue as to whether the sheriff or your girlfriend consented to the conversation you captured on your security camera if you personally were not a participant in that conversation.... You became an adult when you turned 18 years old. However, because you live in your parent's home, you are subject to their rules. That's not the law. It's just the truth because they pay the bills and they're your parents. You should google to find organizations that help gay teens. Way too many young people end up homeless because they leave home too soon. Do your best to work through the issues with your parents until you're able to take care of yourself.... Read More

How do I ensure that I do not have to have a "covid" test?

Answered 5 years and 3 months ago by attorney Renea Overstreet   |   1 Answer
This is a question you must address with your doctors. They may require a Covid test as a condition of treating you or as a condition of your being in any of their facilities where you are treated for your kidney issues or any other health issues. If it is not an emergency, you would have a right to refuse any test, but the medical professions would also have a right to refuse to treat you. A Covid test does not have any special designation that would make it any different than any other test you have been given for your medical treatment. It is common that anyone admitted to a hospital is presumed to have Covid until they receive a negative test. This may be true for a while. Thus, as far as I know, you could simply tell anyone providing medical care that you do not want a Covid test. However, this may mean that the medical professional may refuse to provide treatment to you, depending on the policy for that particular facility and medical professional. ... Read More
