In GA, you may file a lien against the owner of the property. Go to Clerk of Superior Court and look at a lien filed by a big company. Copy that and make up your own form. That lien is good for 1 year. You do not need any one's permission to do so. Then, once filed, notify both the property owner and your boss what you did. The property owner will likely lean on the boss to clear this up.... Read More

But, the hardest part is that you will have to prove actual damages. No speculation, no simply wounded feelings. A better solution might be to address this with management of the company.... Am I eligible for unemployment benefits after returning from a maternity?

Answered 12 years and a month ago by William L. Sanders (Unclaimed Profile)   |   2 Answers   |  Legal Topics: Employment
Yes, you should be eligible for DUI, if you have adequate child care, and are seeking a full time job. If your employer would not return you to work at the end of your maternity leave, you are employed due to lack of work. If you are disqualified, get an attorney experienced in unemployment law. Do not worry about the base period issue. Just go into GA DOL and file a claim. If the base period does not work, they can use the alternate base period. In either, you only need wages in two or more quarters.... Read More
