You only need a disability attorney if you appeal a reconsideration to the administrative law judge level.  That attorney takes $6,000 of the award (which can include an award for the previous two years) if she wins and nothing if she loses.  If the appeal is lost, a further appeal can be taken to a court.... Can you work under the table and get social security disability?

Answered 9 years and 3 months ago by Dr. Michael Gordon Sribnick (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Social Security Disability
This answer does not create a lawyer/client relationship.  I am a hard working American from South Carolina where I bust my behind practicing both medicine and law.  I am ethichal and believe in the good Lord.  What this man is doing is commiting  fraud.  He is asking hard working Americans to pay for his disability, when he takes money under the table.  This is against the law as he is commiting tax fraud and  conspiracy to commit fraud (an agreement to commit fraud between him and whoever is paying him).  He had better stop working under the table or tell the truth to the disability determination commission, as if he gets caught he will be in serious trouble and need to hire a criminal lawyer.  If he tells the disability detemination commission he is liable for back payments, penalties, and total loss of disability future benefits. As a doctor, I know that he is not disabled or he could not work under the table.  As a criminal lawyer myself I would advise him to stop working under the table as he is commiting fraud.  It is not your legal obligation to report him, but I believe it is your moral obligation to report him. You now know he is breaking the law, but you should ask your attorney what to do. Regrets, Michael G. Sribnick, M.D., J.D.  Attorney at Law Michael G.
