Grand Jury Duty

Answered 11 years and 9 months ago by attorney Diana L. Anderson   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
No - not everyone who gets called served.  If you only get paid for 40 hours, tell the judge that when you go to the first day of jury duty.  tell the judge you cannot serve without getting paid.  the actual hours of service depend on whether or not you get selected, and for what jury.  Mostly the courts do not want someone on the jury who does not want to serve, so if you don't or can't becaus eof your job, you will find the court staff to be sympathetic to that. ... My son had juvenile probation & now caught an adult charge, can they mix the two charges? Juvenile & adult charges together?

Answered 11 years and 10 months ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
these are two separate violations and/or charges. the first charge is the criminal charge your son is facing as an adult. the second charge is the violation of probation caused by the arrest for the adult charge. the solution is to address both matters with 'global' resolution. fixing one will not fix the other. we have had good success addressing these multiple violations. please call if we can help. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235... Seeking information related to a rape case: how viable is prosecution in this situation?

Answered 11 years and 11 months ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
this would be a most difficult case [if not impossible] to bring in criminal court in that the prosecutor could not prove the case 'beyond a reasonable doubt'. we have had success in one case where we did not go the criminal or civil route. we confronted the person with the evidence and asked for the cost of medical care. the money was paid. this is most unusual. ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235...
