There is no such thing as a federal expungement. The only way to get rid of the federal felony is to overturn it by motion in the criminal case, based on legal error committed back when you were convicted, or apply to the President for a pardon. As long as you have this conviction you will commit a federal felony if you possess a firearm. State laws that give back firearm rights to some people do not overrule the federal law that makes gun possession by you a felony.... Read More

If it is your only conviction, possibly, after five years from the end of your sentence with no further issues. You should also hire an attorney to see if your allegation regarding your conviction is an error on the record and can be convicted.

If it was truly expunged it legally ceased to exist. Get the details to an attorney and get an option, in writing, on how to respond. If is not to reveal, place it in your files as defense if there is ever any question. Good luck.

Sometimes, marijuana cases are taken under 7411, a statute that allows them to come off your record. The notion that you never heard from probation may not be a good thing. The first thing you need to discover is what your record shows. Only then can you deal with getting something off your record. State of limitations has nothing to do with this discussion.... It might be possible for you to have your convictions expunged or set aside depending on the circumstances and if you have any other record whatsoever. If they are, they cease to exist legally and therefore would be no impediment to your aspirations.
