I have never heard of anyone being declared indigent in a civil court. Once a judgment is rendered against you, it is good for ten years but can be renewed. The only way to discharge a debt is in bankruptcy.

The only way to find a free attorney is to call around to find someone who is willing to take on your case. However, just like you don't want to work for free don't expect an attorney to work for free.

You can go to the General Sessions Clerks Office in the county where you live and they will explain how to fill out a civil warrant to start the lawsuit.
