They can't go forward with the sale if you notified your agent that you don't want to sell the property. Just refuse to sign any documents (except that which is necessary to rescind the sale) and if they try to schedule a closing, don't show up.

I would suggest that you cancel the contract, get your old car back but you will be responsible for paying off the $1,800. You can't cancel the contract and then expect them to pay off your old car too. Then start looking again for another better car.

If your father is competent, then it is legal. It would be better to take him to have him sign the contract in front of a notary who can verify that he was competent when he signed it, just in case his competence is questioned by other family members at a later date after he passes.... Read More
