can you help my husband get out of this detainer in Michigan

Answered 5 years and 11 months ago by attorney Diane Buerger   |   2 Answers   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
If your husband's detainer if from Michigan due to an alleged crime committed in Michigan, you should consult with an attorney licensed to practice law in the state of Michigan.  I do not know how many Florida criminal defense attorneys are also licensed to practice in Michigan -- although my guess is not very many. Even though your husband may be incarcerated in Florida, the Florida courts do not have jurisdiction over an alleged offense that occurred in a different state.  So they cannot lift the detainer.  That's why I recommend you contact a criminal defense attorney who practices in Michigan (or who is licensed to practice in Michigan).        ... Can I ask you 4 advice about a case

Answered 5 years and 11 months ago by Mr. Gary Kollin (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
Lawyers wish answer questions fully and completely, even when they give fee advice.   In turn, we need to make sure we understand the inquiry.   I read your inquiry and saw that it is one run-on sentence. If you wish for me to respond, then you need to provide an inquiry that is parsed into individual sentences. Individual sentences begin with a capital letter and end in a punctuation mark.   I do not know what the dude is and who "we" are.... Read More

Can a cop in state of fl run your tags see you have been arrested for drugs in the past and rhen pull u over because of ur past

Answered 5 years and 11 months ago by Mr. Gary Kollin (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
A police officer can run any tag at any time for official business   They can ask you and it is a common practice of police to ask that hoping that  a person will screw up or agree to let them search.   "So you have no drugs, the you won't mind if I search" said not as a question, but rhetorically.  Of course refuse,    They would have to run name separate from tag and usually do not do that untilidentity is actualy determined   So, just in case, make sure you wear your seat belt, do not talk on phone, so not have improper tinting, make sure your lights all work, remember to turn your headlights are, do not have bald tires or all those other things... What do I do for court??

Answered 5 years and 11 months ago by Mr. Gary Kollin (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Defense
If you had a serious medical condition, would you accept the advice of a doctor in an identical scenario as to whether you should have surgery.   The civil demand letter is independent of any criminal court action.   If the judge finds you indigent, then the judge will, most likely, appoint you counsel  who can examine the evidence, apply the legal analysis and advise you...
