Quickiest way to get divorced to someone I can't find

Answered 5 years and 10 months ago by Joseph Edwards Ashley (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Divorce
If you have no children and own no property joinltly, you  still can be granted a divorce from your husband.  However, it may tak somewhat longer if you are unable to locate him.  Once a complaint for divorce is filed with the court and a writ of summons issued, the Defednat (in your case, your husband) muwt be served with the writ and complaint and has 30 days to answer.  If you are unalbe to locate him, you must ask the couet to allow what is refered to as "Subsituted service", which allows for service by publication among other means.  However, that process will take longer.  Once the court is saticfied that reasonable attempts to serve your husband has been made, the divorce action can proceed resulting, most likely, in a default judgement if he does not "answer" or otherwise contest the action.  You may also want to condier having a private investigaor or process serving compnay perform a skip trace to see if he can be located before filing your compalint. ... I'm sorry that it didn't work out. Yes you can withdraw the application. Read the instructions on the forms as to how to send notifications that you intend to withdraw. There won't be any refunds though. Good luck.

No.  It's unclear to me whether your friend has even defaulted on your loan.  It's also unclear whether you were granted a lien and just neglected to file it, or simply never received a lien.  They're not automatic; you can lend money unsecured.  Also, lien or no, you have  no right to repossess prior to judgment (awarded after you win a lawsuit) unless your contract says you do, so you would have to win a lawsuit before you could do anything with the truck.  In any event, the party who files their lien first has first priority, thus even if you had a lien and could foreclose on it, any judgmet of foreclosure, and any buyer in foreclosure, would take subjec to the senior lien, i.e. the first filed.  None of this, however, affects your right to sue your friend if he defaults on paying you back, it only affects your ability to use the truck to satisfy the debt if he can't otherwise pay you. ... How can i find and buy a Joint sponsor for Immigrant Visa?

Answered 6 years ago by attorney Stephen Arnold Black   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Immigration
You can't "buy" a joint sponsor. You can ask family friends or co workers to assist. If that doesn't work you can get a second job to increase your income. Third you could qualify based on the asset test. If you have assets that can be quickly turned into cash within 12 months, you could qualify based on that. Counsel can assist you in preparing the documents correctly so you won't get denied. Usually after you get an RFE (Request For Evidence) from the government, if you do not provide the missing evidence they require then most times your application will be denied. This means you will lose all the filing fees you paid and waste that time you invested in the process. If you start over again you will have to pay all the filing fees again. Retain counsel anywhere in the USA for representation. Some of us charge very affordable flat fee representation from start to finish. Good luck. ... Read More

Sponsoring a parent outside of the US for green card - interview questions

Answered 6 years and 3 months ago by attorney Alan Lee, Esq.   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Immigration
Where parents are concerned, interviews are usually fairly simple since the relationship has already been approved by U.S.C.I.S. Questions may be asked as to how he will be supported by you or a cosponsor if one is needed, and whether he fits within inadmissible groups. If you have doubts as to whether an interpreter is allowed, you can always look up the telephone number of the embassy and ask. Having an interpreter is not a negative factor. Can a step parent file for a child?

Answered 6 years and 3 months ago by attorney Stephen Arnold Black   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Citizenship
When you married your husband, how old was your child?
When you married your husband, how old was your child?
Generally speaking, people immigrate to the US through family relations or employment skills. Unless born in India, your brother's immigration under employment which in most cases involves a sponsoring employer would be a much faster way for him to come. If he does not have the option, perhaps your sponsorship of him would be his best and only option. Although anyone who has been petitioned for US immigration has immigrant intent and visitors are only supposed to have nonimmigrant intent, US consular officers and border officials are cognizant of the long time involved in a sibling petitioned case and are usually only interested in determining that an individual's trip to the US during the time of processing is truly temporary and that he or she has a definite intent to return to the home country at the end of the time of visiting. This question regards the wrongful death of a widow with several adult children.

Answered 6 years and 4 months ago by attorney Allan M. Siegel   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Wrongful Death
In Maryland each child has a seperate wrongfuld death case.  Therefore each child can have their own lawyer, and can bring their own case.   The survial action is brought by the Estate, and you must be the Personal Representative to bring such a claim.   I woudl suggest you contact a lawyer to consult on these issues, as they can be very complicated.   The first consultation is always free.  Good luck. ... I have a lawyer but they do not respond what should I do

Answered 6 years and 4 months ago by attorney Allan M. Siegel   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Automobile Accidents
This is very unfortunate.    A lawyer is ethically required to respond to clients promptly.   You can terminate that lawyer, and retain a new lawyer to assist you.  The first consultation is usually free, and typically, you will only pay one attorney's fee if you switch lawyers.  Good luck. ... Do I have a case for malpractice?

Answered 6 years and 4 months ago by attorney Allan M. Siegel   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Medical Malpractice
I am sorry to hear about your husband.   Based on your description, you very well may a case for medical malpractice.  Your next step would be to consult with a lawyer, so that he or she an analyze all the facts.    The lawyer would also have to obtain all of your husband's relevant medical records, and would have to have a other doctors review them to determine if your husband's PCP was negligent.   The first consultation is always free, and there is no fee unless the lawyer wins the case, so there is no reason not to consult with a lawyer to ensure that this is thoroughly investigated.     ... can I qualify for disability

Answered 6 years and 4 months ago by attorney Terry Lynn Garrett   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Social Security Disability
Eligibility for either Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Income (SSDI) is based not on medical diagnosis but on funcational ability as reported by both you and your doctors.  You can apply online at www.ssa.gov.  You can ask for a reconsideration and, if needed, a redetermination yourself.  If you find that you must go before an administrative law judge (the third level of appeal), you may hire a lawyer who will be paid out of the proceeds if you win and nothing if you do not.  To find one see the website of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants' Representatives....
