What is the charge for driving without a license first offense in Michigan

Answered 3 years and 8 months ago by attorney Gilbert Borman   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Criminal Law
A finer example of extenuating circumstances I have never heard. You will need to respond to the summons. Advise that you contest the charges. Write an explanation and ask that the court dismiss the case. They might. Go to court.  You will have appointed counsel. Typically, you meet with the prosecutor before appearing in court. Advise the prosecutor of the facts and ask that you be let off for extenuating circumstances. Tell them you would never have done this except for the unusual circumstances. If they refuse, say, OK, let's take this before the judge.  Bring lots of friends and pet lovers to be in court to support you. When your case is called, have everyone stand up so the court knows that the public cares about the case. After you step forward, have everyone sit down. Even on Zoom (have people holding their pets on camera!), the judge will see that this case matters to the community. Judges are elected. Politely tell the judge, I would never have done this except for the circumstances and ask that charges be dismissed.   good luck!... Read More

The lockout may very well be illegal and you can sue the landlord for damages. The case is stronger if you have a written lease.

You need to bring a suit in the county where the seller is headquartered. It sounds like you have a breach of contract case.  Your attorney will hopefully be able to negotiate the return for you.

If the lawyer has fallen off the radar, the court probably knows it. Your divorce is usually filed in the county where you live. Go to that courthouse and ask a clerk in family court to look up the case. If your lawyer is not responding, it can be because they are busy too. Before doing anything drastic, email the lawyer with your questions. If they do not reply in 7 days, there is a problem and you will have to hire another lawyer.  good luck to you... Read More

Landlord kept entire deposit. Do I owe her more?

Answered 3 years and 9 months ago by attorney Gilbert Borman   |   1 Answer
your landlord may have committed an act of conversion of your personal property and the security deposit. if your landlord did not give you notice at the beginning of the lease where they had your security deposit, you can get back double your deposit. additionally, demanding your be out before the last day of the lease, assuming rent was paid, was a wrongful eviction and breach of the contract of lease. as someone who has dealt with a disability all my life, I am DEEPLY offended by your landlord's conduct. If your facts hold up, any Lawyer should be able to cut this landlord down to size and just about any judge will find their behavior repellant.  ... Read More

it depends on what the deed says. if it was uncontingent, only the estate can further transfer the deed, if it was contingent, title might revert to the Grantor; additionally, if the grantor and grantee were married, it might revert automatically. you probably should have a lawyer review what your options are.... Just about every commercial movie is the copyrighted property of someone. Copyrights last 100 years! Usually, the credits tells you who made it. Do I have any say if my parents are forcing me to go to a summer camp for 2 weeks?

Answered 3 years and 9 months ago by attorney Gilbert Borman   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Family Law
Unfortunately, you do not have a cause of action or, absent actual physical abuse, no legal matter that a lawyer can really help you. Most family problems are ones of communication. The best way is to write a letter to your folks and tell them how you feel. Tell them you know they love you but ask them to respect the fact you are not child anymore and that you have opinions about how you want to spend your summer. Presenting a well planned out alternative would show your family your maturity and that you have put a lot of thought into this. It is likely that camp has already been paid for this year but it is only a week or so, and with a well written letter, you might convince your folks that they need to include you more in making summer plans. Best of luck to you. ... Read More

The allegations you are making are very serious. Not sure why an attorney would file an intervention when they were retained for Quiet Title. You are alleging fraud, did you buy at sheriff's sale or was there a judicial foreclosure taking place? What were they intervening into if you acquired a property from foreclosure? If the attorney refunded your fee, there would be a record of it. At this point, from what is stated here, nothing makes much sense to me.... Read More

Answered 3 years and 9 months ago by attorney Gilbert Borman   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Real Estate
Not sure if you have a case, if the lease signed by the prior owner is valid you certainly have a case. Given the facts, you definitely need legal counsel for this. Depending on the prior lease, the six days to locking you out (assuming rent was paid, did they sue for possession?) seems very fast and without a court order, that is VERY troubling.  ... Read More
