Yes, you can sue her, but such cases are typically expensive and are not contingent fee cases for lawyers for obvious reasons.

This will all revolve around the details of the allegaed defamatory statement. You will need to retain a lawyer to examine this and possible file suit to get evidence of what was actually stated.

You cannot sue over how people think about you in general. However, posting things on a facebook page to make others think ill of you with false statemes of fact is another story. Then it becomes an issuse of willingness to spend money out of pockt on legal fees purusing the issues.

This is a classic defmation case with defamation "per se". The issue is really are you inclined to spend several thousand dollars on legal fees filing a lawsuit over such an issue for damages. If not, you rub dirt on it and move on. Otherwise this will escalate an you will end up spending even more money to address it later or worse have no ability to do so and still have a worse issue. ... Read More

It may be a breach of confidentiality - but you have no dog in that hunt - only your G/F does. Since it seems YOU got the information, unless she has been secretive about the divorce there are no damages. Is seems like YOU have been actively involved in the controversy with her and she may have even authorized the lawyer to use you as a contact point. Case in point is YOU on here asking about an issue in HER case when SHE should be the one rasing any issue if there is one to be raised without your involvement. ... Read More

Possibly - any time you "take it to the streets" and post up public accusations and comments, especially after having lost an issue in court, you run that risk. Whether one side or the other wins is a whole different issue.

This may well be a defamation "per se" case as you describe it. You may need to send a cease and desist letter to them or sue for damage or to get thier legal attention with the hope they stop saying such things. We handle such cases BUT they are NOT contingent fee cases where the lawyers get paid only if they win or a percentage of the recovery. They are hourly rate/retainer type cases. ... Read More

This sounds like there is an issue where you are accused of drug seeking behavior  - likely related to opiate pain management. This can be addressed if you are willing spend what may be tens of thousands of dollars on litigation expenses, assuming you were aquitted of the charges. ... Read More

Nope. Doctors are entitled to have thier opinion of you in their records. Unless you can show some form of actual malice you won't get very far on such a case and you will typically spend a great deal of money on legal fees trying to sort it out regardless.
