Hi Susan,  You can pursue the claim directly with their insurance company. Visit this website and search the carrier by name or DOT number, once you find it, navigate to the insurance section and you will find the liability carrier info. https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx?utm_source=chatgpt.com Once you have the insurance info you can file a 3rd party property damage claim by submitting your repair estimate, video images and the email admitting fault.   Good luck with your claim!... Do you handle civil case where I been sold a lemon

Answered a year and 11 months ago by attorney Mark Tischhauser, Esq.   |   1 Answer
Unfortunately lemon law does not apply to used vehicles. Beyond that there is a financial consideration in hiring a lawyer to intervene on a $3,200.00 transaction where the cost of the lawyer could equal or exceed the value of the vehicle. You might try legal aid if you qualify to see if they might try to intervene for you. ... Read More

Insurance company said amount is too much

Answered 4 years and 2 months ago by attorney Stephen Arnold Black   |   2 Answers
You should have a private phone conversation with an attorney here in the state of Florida about all the facts of your case to determine exactly what you are entitled to both property damage wise and personal injury damage wise. Further, you have a period of only 14 days to seek medical attention after the accident or else you would waive your personal injury protection benefit coverage. Secondly, you should not make any statements to anyone without the presence of your lawyer. ... Read More

rentral truck hit a height restrictor in IKEA

Answered 9 years and 8 months ago by Barry Alan Salzman (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
First and foremost, it is important to check the terms of the insurance you purchased with the truck rental, as well as your own motor vehicle policy, to see if you'd be covered for this event. I suspect that you'll be provided coverage to some extent. But without seeing the policies, I cannot advise. If there is coverage afforded to you, you must notify the insurance companies about the incident immediately. Also, if you receive any correspondence or lawsuit papers from IKEA or its representatives, you must forward that paperwork to the insurance companies so that a claims representative and/or lawyer can be assigned on your behalf. Regarding your second question, if IKEA brings a claim against you or sues you, one of your defenses can be that there was a lack of adequate warning about the height restrictor bar. This may not let you off the hook entirely but may serve to reduce your liability to the extent IKEA was comparatively negligent. I hope this helps.... Read More

Can I get a settlement for being rear ended by a triaxle while I was working?

Answered 10 years and 8 months ago by Matthew Joseph Lager (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
It sounds like you have both a workers' compensation case and a personal injury case resulting from this accident, which can each have profound effects on one another. You can potentially obtain a settlement from one or both of those claims. You need to be sure to retain an attorney to do so, though, as the interplay between workers' compensation and tort claims is complex. Trying to do it on your own can result in major problems with liens. As far as a value--you're right; more information is needed. I'd be happy to speak with you to go over these things more in depth if you'd like. My office nuber is 814-452-6232.... Read More

Its possible that they are entitled to something under subrogation. This is the price of not hiring a lawyer to handle such an issue as it might have been possible to have avoided some of this by characterizing the settlements properly, etc. Now you may have to pay for a lawyer out of pocket to sort this out before it gets even more complicated. ... If this is a personal injury case, and you can't resolve this issue with the law firm, youcan always change lawyers. It is important though, to do so as quickly as possible, as the more work that law firm does, the harder it is to get other lawyers to take over and they may claim a bigger lien against your settlement for work they claim to have done.
