No you do not have a case. It sounds like Arby's handled it properly by conducting an investigation and then offering to allow you to stay in the store under certain conditions or to transfering to another store. You chose to quit which was your decision.

This will all revolve around the result of the arrest if the charges were not dropped or you aquitted at trial - you're likely stuck. Otherwise, there may be several potential causes of action to consider, with the big question being areyou willing to spend thousands of dollars in legal fees prosecuting the issue. If not, again - this goes nowhere useful. ... Read More

There is no limit on the method of communication in which someone is liable for defamation.  If the person said things that are untrue about you - on social media - this would be a defamatory statement that is more  than likely actionable in Court.  You should discuss the options you have moving forward with an attorney.  ... There may be some issues here that need to be sorted out. If the police reported him a minor by name that might be of some issue, especially if the charges we based upon a later disclosed fabricated claim. The disclsoure to a co-defendant is likely of little consequence as both know who was or was not involved. The bigger issue may be a claim against the 17 y/o for the false police report/malicious prosecution type claim but it may not be usefull financially. ... Read More

Can I sue the news stations and internet for slandering my family name

Answered 9 years and 4 months ago by Patrick Johnson (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Libel, Slander And Defamation

You will need to either hire a lawyer to pursue a defamation lawsuit, ignore her or find some diplomatic way to quell the issue. Can I be sued for libel?

Answered 9 years and 5 months ago by Patrick Johnson (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Libel, Slander And Defamation
When something unkind is spoken, the person at whom it is aimed calls it defamation; the speaker of the words calls it first amendment free speech.

how do i know if my posts about a previous roommate are slander?

Answered 9 years and 5 months ago by Patrick Johnson (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Libel, Slander And Defamation
I can't answer that question because your attorney would need to know exactly what you said in your posts. There is a fine line between your 1st amendment right of free speech and what is considered defamation.
