You just need an attorney that deals with medical malpractice. You probably won't find one that does just amputations. Good luck with it.

Infection is always a possible risk of surgery so there probably is not malpractice issue here. However, you can take your medical records to an attorney for a consultation and see what he or she has to say about it. You provide only limited facts in this question and it never hurts to speak to someone in person. ... Read More

My brother is paralyzed.

Answered 11 years and 9 months ago by attorney Joseph Miklos   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Medical Malpractice
this sounds like a case where you have a good idea of what went wrong medically . It doesn't sound like you can do much more medically.  Legally the records of the hospital need to be looked at . sometimes a partial or full recovery occurs.  sometimes not. It seems to be too soon to tell which. what are the doctors telling the family? we cant fix the doctors mistake but we can help fix the legal mess that follows. jm    ... Read More

Answered 11 years and 9 months ago by James Newman (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Medical Malpractice
I would like to meet with you to discuss the case.  I would need to know about your brother in laws prior medical history  but it seems they failed to diagnose an obvious oncoming event.  The question will be whether the stroke could have been prevented had the ER physician acted responsibly  I specialize in med mal and there is no fee for a consult.  As with any other med mal case i will need all the hospital records. Perhaps you could get them from the hospital and bring them with you when we meet.  Please call my office at 718 823 3122   Thank you James Newman... Read More

I am sorry to hear about this incident. Certainly if there was a procedure that was done unnecessarily and especially if it caused an injury then this should be investigated. We would need more details (your medical history, what you were told by physicians) to determine whether to proceed with this type of case. Please call us at the office 877ask4sam. Thanks, Dr. Guy Regev.... Read More

Answered 11 years and 9 months ago by attorney Joseph Miklos   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Medical Malpractice
I am sorry to hear about you having to withstand these procedures for what appears to not be a good medical reason. The negligence from the facts above is not yet clear (more information would have to be collected). It may be that the injections were the correct treatments prior to obtaining the MRI for instance. Also, a malpractice attorney would have to hear more regarding any injury that was caused aside from these treatments as well. Hope this helps, Dr. Guy Regev.... Read More

I am sorry to hear about this. I hope she is doing ok now. (I hope you returned to the hospital to have it properly removed). Regardless, I would recommend monitoring her closely for any illness that may result from this (signs of fever, weakness, altered mental status) and return to the hospital if you do observe these. An injury from this type of negligence may warrant a lawsuit. Otherwise you can always file a complaint with the department of health and/or the hospital. Thanks, Dr. Guy Regev.... Read More
