Who is the attorney that can take on the county of Essex for theft of personal property on a contingency bases.

You have the right to bring an action against the police. However, you must file a 'tort claims notice' within 90 days of the incident. You must then prove your case. The burden of proof is significant given the 'protections' given police regarding negligence or mistakes. This can bw an expensive litigation and the police are skilled witnesses. You shopuld make sure that your official criminal record does not have these arrests or charges. We can obtain the offical record. If there are arrest records, you should have the arrests expunged. a friend of mine was arrested and set up by a informant. and the police lied and ca. u sue he served 2 and half years

Answered 10 years and 3 months ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
The police can use a confidential informant. The informant and police must testify at trial and be subject to cross examination. The jury then decides guilt or innocence. To be successful, you would need the informant to testify and say they were forced to lie by the police. This is difficult to achieve. However, if you have the proof and the informant will testify, you have a good case. Please call to discuss. Ed Dimon... Read More

can police look into the back door of your house with or without a flashlight even if they were legally on the property

Answered 11 years and 10 months ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
the key is whether the police had a legal right to be in your backyard. if there was a noise complaint which could be coming from your backyard, the police can enter the backyard. if the police are there legally, they can use the flashlight for personal safety and observe what the light shows. the question is how far can they look with the light ? there are right at the border with the flight downstairs and looking into the house. what was seized when they looked into the house ? ed dimon, esq. 732-797-1600 ext 235...
