6 tickets in the mail

Answered 11 years ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Traffic Violations
You are required by law to have insurance on a vehicle. You are required by law to have the vehicle registered. There is no requirement that you be pulled over by a police officer and issued tickets for these violations. In addition, there is no defense to these violations if you did not have the proper insurance or did not have the proper registration. By way of example, you cannotargue that I am innocent because I was not pulled over by the police. However, there are legitimate solutions to your six tickets. You can obtain the proper insurance and obtain the proper registration and provide them to the prosecutor in advance of the court hearing. Prosecutor will work with you or your attorney to mitigate the consequences. Please call if you would like to discuss the strategy and cost. Ed Dimon... Read More

You must make an economic decision. We have a certified trial attorney who has been a prosecutor for 30 years. He would represent you at the trial for this ticket. The representation would be excellent. However, the cost would be $5000. It would be far less expensive to pay the ticket. It is your decision. You must make an economic decision. We can fight the ticket. We can defeat the ticket. We can do this without you being in state. However, the cost to research background of the ticket, fight the ticket, and appear in court would be $2500. You could pay the ticket and spend for less than $2500. It is your decision.... Read More

Can i be pulled over for half of my passanger side break light being out?

Answered 11 years and 2 months ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Traffic Violations
The police have wide discretion to pull over vehicle if in fact a minor violation is taking place. For example, a brake light. A missing headlight could be another example. In your instance, the side brake light would be sufficient for the officer to stop you and tell you that the light was not functioning. This gives the officer access to you add to your vehicle. What happened after the stop? Did you receive a violation or summons? Please call to discuss. Ed Dimon... Read More

You must explain in a written statement precisely what happened and the circumstances as to why you were driving the car. If you live out of state it would be most difficult to fight this ticket. You have a hearing regarding this ticket and the police would testify against you. I would recommend that you hire an attorney and have them downgrade the ticket to a no point violation. I would also recommend that you have your attorney do this via a guilty plea by affidavit. the 'failure to appear' is your problem. many judges are upset with your failure and will hold you in 'contempt of court' and fine you $1000-$2000 for the 'contempt. i would have your attorney negotiate with the prosecutor so that the contempt fine is as low as possible. i would make sure that all my other fines and surchages were fully paid and that there were no issues with your 'driver's abstract'. you need a clean record'. please call if we can help. ed dimon 732-797-1600 ext 235... Answered 11 years and 4 months ago by Edward J. Dimon (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer   |  Legal Topics: Traffic Violations
We would request the judge to reconsider the sentence based upon your good actions since the convictions. The key to success is your good behavior and your contributions since this incident. We would need strong character letters. The legal costs would be $2000. Ed Dimon
