You will need to hire an expert to support that the surgery was "not needed".X-Rays are not perfect and if they supported surgical intervention properly, the fact that nothing was there when they went in is not inherently an "unneeded" procedure. Once you have an opinion inwriting otherwise, then you have something to work with. ... Read More

You likely need to hire a lawyer to address this lawsuit and part of that may be a counter-suit for FHA/ADA violations. Sounds like the HOA thinks the ESA status is a sham to circumvent no pet rules. If they are worng it can cost them a good deal in legal fees, and if they are corect, possibly the othe wa round. ... Read More

There is something missing in this equation as that makes little sense as presented. If this is to be pursued you will likely need to retain a lawyer to sue civily, not criminally, for damages etc. You will need to accept that the expense of the lawsuit will likely exceed the financial damages as this will bemore matter of prinicple. ... The question is are you in love the dog enough to spend thouands of dollars out of pocket in legal fees to force such payment from the pet shop? If the answer is NO, then you are likely caught in a finanical bind in enforcing a legal remedy you may have. Given you have had the dog 6 days, your better bet is to see if they give you your money back and then report the issue to animal control so they dont just sell the dog to another person. ... I think this was answered in another post. As previously stated, I am not sure how you would know that the other person didn't own the dog prior or why or how they would single out your child and the dog for such a claim, but the remedy would be a "replevin" lawsuit with a lawyer which would likely be very expensive to pursue. Absent some issue like a "dog thief" ring using such a tactic this would likely be a heavily controverted lawsuit. ... Read More

Seriously? Because we KNOW its not your dog to start, so its a higher chance its the other person's dog as a starting point. Your argument is like saying, i found this bicycle unlocked and looked everywhere for the owner didn't see them, so I took it, and added new handle bars and tires, and 2 months later as I was riding it, some one assaulted me claiming it was thiers, but they had no proof, so I want MY bike back. Even Debo and Pee Wee Herman would find that concept troubling. That stated, unless you want to spend an inordinate amount of money on legal fees suing, which is your legal right, to get the dog back and forsing the other party to prove ownership - to what ever end results, you likely made a poor choice in this instance to presume that the dog is yours simply because it didn't have a chip. ... This is a classic histrionic bouncing ball tenant complaint, that makes little sense as posted. Bottom liine is if the LL is trying to evict you, you probably need to actually hire a tenant/renters rights lawyer to address such an issue in proper fashion.
