You may obtain your case documents from the clerk of the court where you case was filed. You will need the Cause Number from your case. If you don't have the Cause Number, you should still be able to find the case by searching for your name in the clerk's records. There will likely be a fee for the documents, but you certainly have a right to get copies of the documents. You may only need the final order, but if you need other documents, you should be able to get them.... Read More

You should get a second opinion. If the death of mom was caused partially or wholly by the car accident, then the car accident claim for personal injury would be replaced by a claim for wrongful death. If the passing of your mother had nothing to do with the car accident, then you still could pursue the claim but the estate of your mom would have to be the plaintiff, and the estate would be able to sue for her pain and suffering and medical bills between the time of the accident and the time of her death. Again you should get a second opinion, and protect yourself from the statute of limitation is running if a lawsuit has not already been filed. ... Read More

Yes you can sponsor your brother and sister, but it's going to take probably 10 years or more before they can qualify to apply for a green card. Siblings fall into the F4 category, and in order to determine the time that they will have to wait, you can google the "department of state visa bulletin board" and it will tell you under that category what priority date that US CIS is currently working on.... There are cameras everywhere in a casino.  They have a great deal of technology and would likely have no trouble finding you.  It is absolutely one of the worst places you can committ a crime. The only question is, how much did you take? That is, would it be worth their trouble to release the hounds on you. Don't do anything foolish in a casino ever.... Read More

From what you describe it sounds like you are referring to the term "per stirpes."  See Sections 5808.19(7) and 2105.06 of the Ohio Revised Code to ensure this is what you intend. (links below)  At the end of the day, it's usually worth it to get a legal professional to prepare your estate plan.  The problem, in a nutshell, is you don't know all the ins and outs of the law, and even more concerning is that you don't know what you don't know. https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-5808.19 https://codes.ohio.gov/ohio-revised-code/section-2105.06... Except under special circumstances (i.e. to prevent a future crime), which don't seem to apply here, an attorney is ethically bound to maintain his/her client's confidences, and can face discipline from the bar if he/she breaches that confidence.  He/she can also be liable to the client for damages caused by the breach of confidence.... Yes, as a United States citizen, you can petition both of your parents. However you will need a joint sponsor if you do not have the required income threshold to act alone. You should retain counsel anywhere in the United States for representation. Anyone can act as a joint financial sponsor if they are a US citizen or a green card holder. It does not matter if they are not blood related to you.... Read More

Answered 4 years and 5 months ago by attorney Bruce Robins   |   1 Answer
If your mother gave the computers to you unconditionally, she has no right to keep them, but it appears that you're going to have to sue her and convince the judge or jury that they were gifts in order to get them back.
