A girl i dated keyed my car. only proof i have is a text from an unknown number

Answered 8 years and 8 months ago by Anthony Van Zwaren (Unclaimed Profile)   |   1 Answer
A text from an unknown source has absolutely no evidentiary value and I doubt any court would admit it. Even if you knew who sent the text, that person would have to be in court to verify the text and verify how he or she "knew" your ex girlfriend keyed your car. This info is totally useless in court.... Read More

We have done cases like this with unruly neighbors. The key is creating a written record from which the neighbor cannot escape. We use our private detective to take statements from all the witnesses. We pu the neighbor on written notice of the issues. We then use the power of the municipal court if the behavior does not change. Please call to discuss. Ed Dimon 732-797-1600... Read More

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you ! You did not indicate if you were injured during this incident or suffered any damages such as loss of property, medical expenses, etc.  I understand the incident was very frightening, but I'm not sure there will be any compensable damamges.  If you immediately left Cancun as a result of this incident and are looking for a refund of the monies paid for the vacation that might be a damage claim, especially if they claim they wanr all customers, and did not warn you.  However, there may be exclusions because even if the area was not under any warning or advisory, crime happens all over the world, and you could have just been unlucky to have been involved in a ramdom incident in an otherwise safe area.  ... found a roach in my arizonia fruit punch can

Answered 9 years and 2 months ago by attorney Diana L. Anderson   |   1 Answer
The question is always going to be what damages were suffered?  If you did not suffer any damages, you do not have any claim. Yes - having a roach in the can is digusting, but being disgusted does not give rise to a cause of action.

How do I change a name or use an alias.

Answered 9 years and 4 months ago by attorney Bruce Robins   |   1 Answer
As a general rule, you can use any name you want as long as you don't use it as a means of defrauding people.  There is generally no need to endure any formal procedure.  Thus, for example, you can't fill out a loan application using the name Joseph in order to conceal the fact that Jose has defaulted on 3 loans.  But that doesn't mean that you can't use the name "Tony" instead of "Anthony", or "Joseph" instead of "Jose"....
